Finally...

It's been a while since I last posted (partially owing to the fact that I promised myself not to post until I have some piece of good news, and partly because I've been so lazy to write the past couple of weeks). Finally...

Finally--after a couple of weeks of anxious and agonizing waiting, I finally, finally have my visa. Just when I finally gave up pestering the courier service with my incessant texting, it texted me back to say that I'll be getting it in a short matter of days. Indeed, patience and persistence do pay off. Thank God.

Finally--I sat down with the big bosses to talk work. I'm proud and anxious-excited to say that I finally have not one, but two jobs as project team head for two projects--one of which is a book (a book!), which I'm super extra excited to be part of.

Finally--I had a chance to bond with my seemingly long-lost blockmate friends again. It was in Architect Lesley's birthday party last Sunday, and I must say, I had a great time (great food, konting inom, great people...if you know what I mean ;P ). Mark even gave me and Michelle a ride (miracles do happen...thanks to Michelle's charm...which never fails to work on Mark, hehe).

Finally--AF has a new (and may I say very promising) Execom for 2006. Congrats and Godspeed to Christian, Jas, Geggy, Mary, JB, Jiddulet, Jika, Pol and Janmike!!! Kaya nyo yan! :)

Finally--I got to watch Elevate 6, the UP Pep Squad concert. My first time, after almost 7 years in school. I enjoyed it immensely, especially the little squabble between Mamawatakiki and Viva Espana. Panalo!

I guess with good news also comes a bit of bad ones. The yin to the yang (or the other way around).

It's kind of depressing how the country's security situation is right now, with PP 1017 and all the rallies and stand-offs. Although I hate to admit it, this looks very, very familiar. Like a scenario more than 20 years ago. Kawawa naman ang Pinoy. Hay.

Why can't we just all get along? There's lots of mouths to feed, lots of souls suffering. I wonder if we'll ever see a day like the one John Lennon talks about in his song Imagine:
no countries...
nothing to kill or die for...
no religion...
all people living life in peace...
no possessions...
no need for greed or hunger...
a brotherhood of man...
all people sharing all the world...
the world as one...
Seems like such a far-off dream...
