bebuy in batangas :p

Just got home from a weekend trip to Laiya, San Juan, Batangas with five of my girls (We missed you, Arlene!). I'm a little bit toasted, not to mention a little too tired from the traffic (Do not underestimate the wrath of weekend SLEX traffic!), but completely happy and satisfied that my weekend was put to good use before next week's mountain of workload :)
Leah, Chuk, Mariel, Liv and Seppie: THANKS FOR A REALLY GREAT WEEKEND!!! *mwah*
Nice place--A/C huts, a pool, videoke, clean waters (well, in the morning, that is).
Buffet--hindi pa ba obvious sa title what the whole weekend was about? haha. Thanks to Mariel's mom for the yummy Sunday lunch! You rock, Tita!
Kayaking--Yel and I decided to flex our muscles a bit, after pigging out waaaaay too much on buffet, um, everything. Kayaked for about an hour, which involved ferrying Chuk and Leah in and out of the water :p Super nice kayak keeper named Yulo :)
Karet (?)--the act of harvesting buko by crossing bamboo poles suspended 50 feet in the air between coconut trees. Too bad we weren't able to see a mangkakaret firsthand, but I could just imagine the thrill of doing it.
Trampoline--not so good for not-so-limber 24-year-olds! hahaha
Ancestral houses--was on HTC-mode when Mariel took us to see (and have lunch, ano pa ba?) at her family's ancestral house which dates back to approximately the late 1800's to early 1900's. Met her Inay Deng (a very cool, very fasyon 90-years-young lady), her Mom and Dad (who fed us like there's no tomorrow), her siblings, and a couple of very pilyo but very adorable little boys called Troy and Mac :p Cool house, cool town, cool family. No wonder Yel turned out that way :)
Pictures--of course! http://wanjeloo.multiply.com soon!

note to self:

Get used to the cr*p that comes with being a no-name freelancer in the field. Hayyy...

Guess I had too much fun in Zambales that now, God's reminding me that I can't have it all. Oh well.

Di lang ako maka-get over!!! Grrr.

Okay, Anj, shake it off....

Thankfully, that woke me up somehow. Time to act like a real adult and do some, uh, investing.

today was election day, i had the chance to vote, and i'm glad i did. i know it's going to take much, much more than my one solitary vote to make a huge change in the country, but i'd like to think it's enough to make a small difference :)

update lang ulit.

Another sweltering, sticky day. The weather's been pretty crazy the past couple of days, with bouts of rain and gusts of cold winds appearing from nowhere. But heck, I'm going to the beach in a couple of days and I don't really care. So eff you, weird weather--don't rain on my parade! :p

Hung out with friends today after scoping out the incoming fresh meat...este, freshmen pala, for a glimmer of (hope?) potential whatever. Jika has her eyes set on a couple of guys who have, um, Hiyas potential. Haha. Lunch at Noli's (sila lang, actually) with a super giddy Saku providing lots of um, d-uh comments and laughs. Good thing he's not too, um, mopey these days. Hahaha.

Went to SM with Jika and Dax, where we got treated to yummy merienda (thanks to Senor Cuaresma, fresh from the bank). Then we went around, mostly me and Jika cooking up plans for Dax's Hiyas debut (heehee), going around looking at summer stuff (wah, excited na ko!).

Then Jika had to go and I was left to accompany Dax to get his ears pierced (don't ask me why, ok?). They actually look cool, even though Saku says guys look bading with both ears pierced, haha. Then we got faux sno-cones (they were more like Slurpees) that made us look like chow-chows :p

Then it was time to go. I went home, new bag to boot, stuff for the beach, and the priceless image of Dax's face as his ears were being pierced. Bow. Haha.

update lang.

had an impromptu "tour of UP" the other day with gerard, foom, dax and leni for the centennial project. syempre may stopover pa sa "crib" ni gerard a.k.a. ang napakaganda niyang bagong bahay. went around--the library (kung saan muntik na kaming bulyawan nung isang masungit na librarian), sa kanto ng university ave. (kung saan si gerard ay nang-nenok ng sunflowers, hehe), sa OICA (kung saan para kaming mga suspek sa krimen na hinarap sa malacanang, wahaha).

in our boredom, tumunganga naman kami afterwards sa may main lib at nag-countdown to zambales. then cheska arrived, and we decided go to sm and--ano pa nga ba?--eat. jack's loft, yum. busog ka na sa cholesterol, samahan mo pa ng sugar rush. pero sulit. we decided that we really needed a trip out of town, because the city's turned our brains to mush and we've all gone nuts :p 5 days na lang!!!!

*****
saturday. Spiderman 3 day. *stupid grin*. ayoko na mag-elaborate. hehe :D

whoa.

Can't believe it's May already. Doesn't do much, though--I'm still bored out of my wits, raring to go places I know I can't because I haven't been paid for projects long accomplished yet :( Hay naku.

The only things that get me going these days are: 1) the prospect of numerous beach trips, and 2) family coming home from the States.

I need to get my beach fix, pronto! Hayyyyy.....
